On 11 June, The Travelling Drinking Horn was delivered by a delegation of seven visitors from St Mary’s Chapter in Thame, led by their First Principal E Comp Bert Ingram into the hands of E Comp Gordon McCoy, the First Principal of Caversham Chapter who then welcomed them all to their Chapter.
The Travelling Drinking Horn is a symbol of companionship and visiting between the Chapters of our Province and this is the first time it has been received into Caversham Chapter and the first time that one of the visiting delegation had ever been to the Caversham Centre. E Comp Tony Herbert, a Royal Arch mason of many years, was impressed by the newly renovated Chapter Room, with it’s beautiful alabaster reliefs and looks forward to visiting again.
After the meeting a sumptuous buffet was enjoyed by all at the Festive Board.
St Mary’s enjoyed their visit and the warm welcome given to them, by all the members of Caversham Chapter.
We look forward to hearing about the Travelling Drinking Horn’s next journey in our Province. Where next? Bicester? Witney? Chippy ? Henley? Oxford?
