Roger Hampshire receives the ProvGM’s Award for Meritorious Service

The Provincial Grand Master, Prof Stephen Tucker was pleased to attend the Witney Masonic Centre on Monday 22nd September 2025 to witness Daniel Davis being initiated into Gateway Lodge No 8501. The ceremony was conducted with a high degree of skill by all concerned. The working tools being presented by Bro. Daniel’s uncle Terry Stevens-Lewing the Mentor and a founder member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Lodge No.10016 who had travelled to Witney especially for the occasion.

 The evening was made extra special as the ProvGM was delighted to present Roger Hampshire with the ProvGM’s Award for Meritorious Service for his wide-ranging and notable service to the Province, including spearheading the Pantomime Project and for his dedication to Teddies for Loving Care. 

This very special award is presented in recognition of outstanding service to Oxfordshire Freemasonry, and is awarded to those who have distinguished themselves in keeping with the highest traditions of our Order.

The evening finished with a fine festive board, where a special bottle of 22 SAS Officers Mess wine was auctioned.
